Active Wellness and Manor Park Break Ground on New 16,000+ Square Foot Senior Wellness Center in Midland, TX

Mar 17, 2026 | Newsroom

Active Wellness, a leading national fitness design, management, and consulting company has announced its partnership with Manor Park and RDG Planning & Design on the groundbreaking of a new, state-of-the-art wellness center located at 5212 Sinclair Avenue. The 16,775-square-foot facility will introduce innovative fitness and wellness programming designed to support active aging, strength, and lifelong vitality for Manor Park residents and the broader Midland community. The project marks a pivotal milestone in Manor Park’s Age of Renewal campaign, reinforcing its commitment to redefining what vibrant, healthy living looks like in today’s senior living communities.

Following the official groundbreaking on January 15, 2026, construction is now underway with an estimated 15-to-18-month timeline. The project represents a collaborative effort that began in mid-2024, with Active Wellness providing specialized design, development, and feasibility services to ensure the center meets the evolving needs of the Midland senior community ahead of its anticipated grand opening on April 1, 2027.

Redefining Wellness in Modern Senior Living

The new wellness center reflects a forward-looking vision for what wellness can and should be within today’s senior living communities. Designed as a holistic hub for healthy longevity, the facility will serve as an Activate location, bringing together advanced fitness, recovery, and wellness services with a strong emphasis on cognitive health and dual-task training. This innovative approach supports both physical vitality and brain health, empowering residents to maintain independence, strength, and mental sharpness throughout the aging journey.

Upon completion, the facility will be branded Activate at Manor Park, establishing a premier destination for longevity-focused wellness within the community. Active Wellness will transition into a full management and marketing partner on January 1, 2027, overseeing daily operations and delivering data-driven programming designed to help residents achieve measurable improvements in health, performance, and quality of life.

“Working with Active Wellness on the design and development of our new Wellness Center has been an extremely positive experience,” said Stephen Nelson, CEO of Manor Park. “From the earliest planning stages through the ongoing development process, their team has demonstrated a deep understanding of what it takes to create a space that truly supports health, community, and engagement. We’re excited about what this facility will bring to our organization and the people we serve.”

Collaborative Design and Expert Partnership

Design firm RDG has worked closely with Active Wellness to translate Manor Park’s vision into a functional, high-end reality. By combining an operator’s perspective with innovative architectural design, the team has created a space optimized for long-term engagement and physical well-being.

“Active Wellness was a vital partner in envisioning and bringing to life a holistic wellness center for seniors and staff at Manor Park,” said Elizabeth Fichter, AIA, NCARB, Architect at RDG. “They brought both knowledge of cutting-edge wellness trends and an operator’s perspective to the table. I especially appreciated their expertise in cognitive fitness and dual-task training for the healthiest aging possible. Throughout the design process, Active has been responsive, ego-free, and solutions-driven.”
